The conventional Weber Marelli IAW series 4 ignition system with distributor suffers from insufficient time to charge the coil at higher revs. This leads to reduced spark energy and known high boost, high revs misfire. This problem is made even worse by loses introduced by the distributor, that tend to get worse as components get older.

However, with distributorless system, there is plenty of time to reach optimal coil charge, as available charge time per coil has been doubled. Coil charge time is being dynamically adjusted by closed-loop coil charge strategy. This means that the system learns how good the coils were charged in last charge cycle, and if there were any tiny imperfections, the point of charging start is going to be re-adjusted. This is the ultimate solution, that can self-adapt to many factors, like battery voltage, coil temperatures, coil inductivity and many more. A real install-and-forget mod. Next advantage comes from its fully static construction, there are no moving components to wear with use. One can chose between having coils remotely mounted, or having them directly on spark, using newer type pencoils.
